Raja Shivaji 2026 Review :-

Raja Shivaji is a production of immense ambition and noble intent, marked by a scale that is undeniably grand. At the heart of this spectacle is Riteish Deshmukh, who delivers perhaps the finest performance of his career. He fully commits to the titular role, successfully convincing the audience of his transformation into the legendary leader, though the film’s lengthy runtime occasionally dilutes the impact of his portrayal. The narrative, penned by the trio of Ajit Wadekar, Sandeep Patil, and Deshmukh himself, spends its first half detailing the consolidation of power. We are introduced to a rich ensemble: Bhagyashree as the influential Jijabai, Genelia Deshmukh-who is wonderful and radiant as Saibai-and Abhishek Bachchan as the King’s elder brother, Sambhaji Shahaji Bhosle. One of the film’s most significant triumphs is this focus on Sambhaji Maharaj; by highlighting a vital historical figure often overlooked in previous cinema, the film offers a fresh and educational perspective. It even delves into darker, lesser-known historical footnotes, such as the grim fate of Afzal Khan’s wives. However, from a storytelling perspective, the first half occasionally falters. In an attempt to be comprehensive, the script crams in a vast amount of material, making it difficult for the emotional beats to truly resonate. While the casting is impeccable across the board-with solid contributions from Vidya Balan, Sanjay Dutt, and a brief signature appearance by Salman Khan-the film often feels like a series of high-value moments rather than a cohesive, gripping journey. Ultimately, Raja Shivaji is a cinematic achievement that commands respect for its visual grandeur and historical sincerity. While it may be admired more for its scale than felt for its emotional depth, it truly soars in its final act. It remains a massive, respectful tribute that succeeds in bringing nuanced chapters of Maratha history to the big screen.
